MSC Seascape has much more to do than simply sit by the pool.
The ship combines traditional cruise activities like basketball and outdoor recreation with an extensive collection of simulators, virtual-reality games and arcade attractions. At the top of the lineup is ROBOTRON, Seascape’s robotic-arm thrill ride suspended high above the ship.
Families will find most of the action concentrated around Decks 18 through 20, where the Hall of Games, Adventure Trail, MSC Sports Arena, Pirates Cove and ROBOTRON are located. There are also attractions elsewhere aboard, including the Interactive XD Cinema on Deck 7 and two dramatic glass walkways.
Here’s what you need to know about outdoor activities, games and arcades aboard MSC Seascape.

One of the strengths of Seascape’s activity lineup is that you don’t have to pay every time you want something to do.
The high-tech simulators and arcade attractions generally cost extra, while outdoor recreation such as Adventure Trail, the Sports Arena, glass bridges and Pirates Cove can be enjoyed without using amusement credit.
ROBOTRON
ROBOTRON is MSC Seascape’s signature amusement attraction.
Located on Deck 20, the ride uses a three-seat gondola attached to a large robotic arm. Instead of following a traditional roller-coaster track, the arm lifts and moves riders through a series of rotations, turns and inversions high above the upper deck.
The attraction combines the physical movement with music and lighting while giving riders wide-open views of the ocean.
It’s unlike almost anything else you’ll find on a cruise ship.
If you’re comfortable with heights, spinning and thrill rides, ROBOTRON is one of the attractions worth considering simply because it’s so closely associated with MSC Seascape.
Does ROBOTRON Cost Extra?
Yes. Prices can change, but it is $10 per person for a three minute ride.
ROBOTRON is an extra-charge attraction and can be paid for individually or through eligible MSC Fun Pass credit.
MSC can change attraction prices by sailing, so we’d check the current onboard price rather than planning around an older price found online.
If ROBOTRON is the only paid attraction you’re interested in, paying for a single ride may make sense. If you’re also planning to use Formula Racer, VR games and the arcade, that’s where a Fun Pass becomes more useful.
Hall of Games
Hall of Games is the center of Seascape’s high-tech amusement lineup.
It’s located on Deck 18 near Pirates Cove, the kids clubs and Marina Pool.
This isn’t simply a traditional cruise arcade filled with video-game cabinets.
The broader amusement lineup includes attractions such as:
- Formula Racer
- VR Rafting
- Beat Hero VR
- Other virtual-reality experiences
- Traditional arcade games
Most of these experiences carry an additional charge.
For families with teenagers, Deck 18 can easily become one of the busiest parts of the ship.
MSC Formula Racer
Formula Racer was one of the attractions we tried aboard Seascape.
The simulator places you in a Formula-style racing cockpit and challenges you to actually control the car rather than simply holding down the accelerator and bouncing off the barriers.
It was more difficult than we expected.
That’s also what made it fun.
It took some effort to put together a respectable lap, which gave us a reason to try it a couple of times rather than feeling like one run was enough.
If you enjoy racing games, Formula Racer is one of the paid attractions we’d recommend trying.
There are height restrictions, so families with younger children should check the posted requirements onboard.
Is Formula Racer Worth It?
We think Formula Racer is worth trying at least once.
The simulator is challenging enough that there is some replay value. We enjoyed doing it a couple of times because there was an actual sense that we could improve.
That doesn’t mean you need to spend half the cruise trying to shave another second from your lap.
For us, a couple of attempts felt about right.
That’s also something to keep in mind when deciding how much Fun Pass credit you actually need.
VR Rafting
VR Rafting is another paid attraction in the Deck 18 amusement area.
The experience combines virtual reality with motion designed to simulate moving through a rafting environment.
It’s part of Seascape’s broader collection of VR attractions rather than something automatically included with your cruise fare.
If your family enjoys virtual-reality games, this gives you another option beyond the traditional arcade.
Beat Hero VR
Beat Hero VR is another virtual-reality attraction located around the Hall of Games area.
We’d think of it as one of several choices within Seascape’s broader amusement lineup rather than a headline attraction on its own.
The exact assortment of arcade and VR games can change over time, so the onboard Hall of Games should be your final guide to what is available during your sailing.
Interactive XD Cinema
Interactive XD Cinema is easy to overlook because it isn’t located with most of the other amusement attractions.
You’ll find it on Deck 7.
The attraction has only a handful of seats and combines a 3D dark-ride-style experience with interactive gameplay.
Guests compete against one another while moving through a virtual environment and shooting at onscreen targets.
Because capacity is limited, this is one attraction where a wait can develop if several families arrive at the same time.
Adventure Trail
Adventure Trail is located high on Deck 19 around the Pirates Cove recreation area.
It’s an elevated activity where you move across bridges and obstacles above the outdoor deck.
We thought it was fun, but it wasn’t especially difficult.
Outside of guests with movement or mobility restrictions, most people should be able to complete it without much trouble.
You don’t need exceptional balance or serious climbing ability.
That makes Adventure Trail especially well suited to families because it feels like an activity without becoming a major physical challenge.
Is Adventure Trail Scary?
Not particularly.
You’re elevated above the deck, so someone who is extremely uncomfortable with heights may still hesitate. But Adventure Trail isn’t comparable to an extreme ropes course or ROBOTRON.
The obstacles are manageable, and the experience is more about moving through the course and enjoying yourself than testing how brave you are.
MSC Sports Arena
MSC Sports Arena is located on Deck 20.
The multi-purpose outdoor court can be used for activities including:
- Basketball
- Five-a-side football
- Volleyball
- Tennis
This is one of Seascape’s better options if you want something active that doesn’t involve spending money in the arcade.
Organized games and tournaments can vary from cruise to cruise, so check MSC for Me if you’re interested in scheduled activities.
Otherwise, the Sports Arena gives families and teens another place to burn off some energy between meals and pool time.
Pirates Cove Aquapark
Pirates Cove is one of the centerpieces of Seascape’s upper-deck family recreation.
We cover the pools, splash areas and water slides in much more detail in our MSC Seascape Pools, Water Slides and Hot Tubs Guide, but the aquapark also connects naturally with the activities in this guide.
The area spans Decks 18 and 19 and sits near:
- Adventure Trail
- Hall of Games
- Marina Pool
- Kids and teen clubs
- Other family attractions
We had a lot of fun on the water slides.
There could be a short wait on sea days, but we generally found it manageable, usually only a few minutes.
That entire Deck 18 and 19 area works particularly well for families because everyone can move among several activities without crossing the ship.
Bridge of Sighs
Bridge of Sighs is one of the easiest free attractions to experience aboard MSC Seascape.
Located high around Deck 16, the glass walkway gives you dramatic views down toward the aft of the ship.
It sounds scarier than it feels.
We thought the walkway was enclosed enough that it shouldn’t bother most guests.
If you are extremely uncomfortable with heights, looking down through the glass may still be challenging.
For everyone else, there’s enough structure surrounding you that it doesn’t feel like you’re walking across a completely exposed glass platform.
We’d recommend crossing it at least once.
Infinity Bridge
MSC Seascape has another glass walkway much lower on Deck 8.
Infinity Bridge is positioned near the Infinity Pool and Waterfront Boardwalk.
This creates a very different experience from Bridge of Sighs.
Bridge of Sighs is about height. Infinity Bridge is more about feeling close to the ocean.
Both are quick to experience and don’t require a Fun Pass.
Waterfront Boardwalk
The Waterfront Boardwalk on Deck 8 isn’t really an attraction in the same way Formula Racer or ROBOTRON is.
But it is still one of Seascape’s better outdoor spaces.
The walkway connects several restaurants, bars and outdoor areas while keeping you relatively close to the water.
It’s especially nice before or after dinner when you’re already spending time around the Deck 8 specialty dining area.
Not everything you do aboard Seascape has to involve a simulator or thrill ride.
MSC Seascape Fun Pass Explained
If you have children or teenagers interested in the arcade and simulators, it’s worth understanding MSC’s Fun Pass before sailing.
Despite the name, Fun Pass is not an unlimited activity package.
It is prepaid amusement credit.
You purchase a certain amount of credit and then use that balance on participating attractions such as:
- Arcade and video games
- Interactive XD Cinema
- Formula Racer
- VR games
- ROBOTRON
- Other eligible paid amusement activities
Each attraction deducts its individual charge from your available credit.
Once your Fun Pass balance is gone, additional paid attractions are charged normally to your onboard account.
That’s the most important thing to understand.

Can a Family Share the Fun Pass?
MSC generally allows Fun Pass credit to be used by eligible guests associated with the same cabin.
That makes it much more practical for families because you don’t necessarily need to purchase a separate package for every child.
Check the terms offered with your individual booking, however, because package values and rules can change.
Should You Buy the Fun Pass Before Sailing?
If you already know your family plans to use multiple paid attractions, buying Fun Pass credit before the cruise is worth checking.
MSC often offers additional value when amusement credit is purchased before sailing.
That doesn’t mean everyone should automatically buy the largest package.
Think about what you’ll realistically use.
If you’re planning to ride ROBOTRON once and Formula Racer twice, paying individually may be perfectly reasonable.
If your kids expect to spend significant time in Hall of Games and use multiple simulators, purchasing discounted Fun Pass credit makes much more sense.

Seascape has a good combination of included recreation and paid amusement.
Activities that generally cost extra include:

This balance is important.
You don’t need to spend extra money every time your family wants something to do.
Tips for MSC Seascape Games and Activities
- Take some time early in your cruise to explore the upper-deck activity area.
- Walk through Hall of Games.
- Look at the current prices for Formula Racer, ROBOTRON and the VR experiences.
- Check the Fun Pass offers available for your sailing.
- Then decide how much you’re actually likely to spend.
- We wouldn’t automatically buy the largest Fun Pass simply because it offers the greatest advertised savings.
- The best package is the one you’ll actually use.
- We’d also mix paid attractions with Seascape’s included recreation.
- Try Formula Racer.
- Cross Bridge of Sighs.
- Walk Adventure Trail.
- Use the Sports Arena.
- Head to Pirates Cove.
You can have a very active day aboard Seascape without turning every activity into another onboard charge.
Final Thoughts on MSC Seascape Outdoor Activities, Games and Arcades
MSC Seascape offers a strong combination of traditional outdoor recreation and modern amusement attractions.
ROBOTRON gets most of the headlines, and understandably so. A robotic-arm thrill ride high above the ocean is a pretty unusual thing to find on a cruise ship.
But Seascape doesn’t depend on that one attraction.
Formula Racer was challenging and fun enough for us to try more than once. Adventure Trail provided a fun outdoor activity without being overly difficult. Bridge of Sighs delivered the dramatic height and views without feeling excessively exposed.
Families and teenagers also have VR games, XD Cinema, Pirates Cove, Hall of Games and the Sports Arena.
The main thing to understand before sailing is that Seascape essentially has two types of activities.
Some of the headline high-tech attractions cost extra and can use Fun Pass credit.
A lot of the outdoor recreation doesn’t.
Mix the two together, and there’s plenty to keep kids, teenagers and adults busy without feeling like you need to swipe your cruise card every time you want something to do.
