Most production shows, live entertainment in public spaces, pools, open-air sports areas, the fitness center, and organized activities are also included. Kids clubs and many family activities are part of the fare, although specific attractions such as bowling, Formula 1 simulators, VR games, and other amusement-area experiences may cost extra.
Your stateroom category or experience level can add benefits. Fantastica and Aurea include free room-service delivery, although individual food items may still be priced. Automatic charges to budget for
Hotel Service Charge

For Caribbean, Alaska, and U.S. cruises booked from May 11, 2026, MSC currently lists $17 per person per night for guests age 2 and older, or $23 per person per night in Yacht Club. For bookings before that date, the listed rates are $16 and $20. Children under age 2 are not charged. Other regions use different amounts, currencies, age bands, and booking-date thresholds.
MSC allows guests to prepay the Hotel Service Charge. Its U.S. page also says a guest may ask the onboard Guest Relations Manager to remove daily charges after unsatisfactory service. We recommend leaving the charge in place because it supports the wider crew compensation system. Guests who want to recognize exceptional service can still tip an individual crew member in cash.
Bar Service Charge
MSC says North America itineraries add an 18% Bar Service Charge to onboard bar purchases. The U.S. FAQ lists 15% for several other regions, so do not assume 18% applies worldwide.
The service charge is already included in MSC beverage package pricing. If you buy drinks individually, include the regional service charge in your budget instead of comparing only the menu price.
Credit-card holds
MSC may place preauthorization holds on a registered credit card. A hold is not the same as a posted purchase, but it reduces the card’s available credit until the bank releases it. Room-service rules depend on the experience level and the item ordered.
Bella includes continental breakfast in the stateroom with delivery for a fee. As of our publishing, this rate is $4.99 for American sailings.
Fantastica and Aurea include free room-service delivery.
Free delivery does not mean every food item is free. MSC says room-service food items can be priced individually, and Caribbean dinner menus may differ.
Minibar purchases are separate. Beverage packages generally exclude minibar and room-service orders.
Drinks and beverage packages
Most bar drinks and specialty beverages cost extra unless the booking or experience includes a package. Guests can buy drinks individually or choose a beverage package.
The current Premium Extra Package includes beverage gratuities and allows up to 15 alcoholic drinks per guest per day. After the daily limit, alcoholic drinks can still be purchased at the applicable menu price. Nonalcoholic drinks included in the package are not subject to that 15-drink limit.

Wi-Fi is a paid service unless the fare, promotion, or experience includes it. MSC currently offers Browse and Browse & Stream options with unlimited data and 24-hour access. Browse does not support streaming or video chat, while Browse & Stream does.
