If you’re trying to choose the right cabin on MSC Poesia, the deck plans are one of the best tools you can use before booking. Poesia is smaller and somewhat easier to navigate than MSC’s newest ships, but the layout changed significantly with the ship’s 2026 refurbishment and the addition of the MSC Yacht Club.
The lower decks contain most of the ship’s restaurants, bars, lounges, theater, casino, and other indoor public areas. Decks 8 through 12 are primarily cabin decks, while Decks 13 through 16 contain the pools, buffet, spa, gym, kids areas, outdoor activities, Aurea spaces, and many of the new Yacht Club facilities.

MSC Poesia Deck Plans
Deck 4 - Boccaccio

Deck 4 is primarily a working deck rather than a major passenger destination.
Tender access may be located here when MSC Poesia visits a port where passengers need to use smaller boats to reach shore. On those days, this area can become busy as groups are called to leave the ship.
Most of the remainder of Deck 4 is dedicated to crew and ship operations rather than restaurants, bars, lounges, or other passenger facilities.
Deck 5 - Petrarca

Deck 5 is where several of MSC Poesia’s most important practical spaces are located.
Reception and Guest Services is the place to go for questions about your onboard account, key card, cabin, billing, or other general cruise issues.
Le Rendez-Vous Bar sits near the atrium and works well as a central meeting point. It is also a convenient place for coffee or a drink when you are moving between the lower public decks.
Le Fontane is one of MSC Poesia’s main dining rooms. If this is your assigned restaurant, Deck 5 will likely become part of your regular evening routine.
The Medical Center is also located on Deck 5.
There are cabins on this deck as well, including interior and ocean-view rooms. Being this low in the ship can be useful for cruisers concerned about motion, although you will be farther from the buffet and pool decks.

Deck 6 is one of MSC Poesia’s main indoor public decks.
The lower level of Teatro Carlo Felice is located here. This is the ship’s primary theater and the setting for many of the larger evening performances.
Il Palladio is another of MSC Poesia’s main dining rooms. Like Le Fontane on Deck 5, this can become a regular destination depending on your assigned dining arrangement.
The Zebra Bar is one of the ship’s larger lounges and can host live music, dancing, games, activities, and other scheduled entertainment.
Deck 6 also has several smaller bar and lounge options, including Bar dei Poeti, Bar Smeraldo, and Giada Bar.
Much of MSC Poesia’s shopping is concentrated here as well, along with the MSC Excursions desk, meeting facilities, and Poker Room.
If you enjoy spending your evenings moving between dinner, drinks, shopping, and a show, you may spend quite a bit of time on Deck 6.

Deck 7 continues the entertainment-heavy layout from Deck 6.
The upper level of Teatro Carlo Felice is located here, giving passengers another entrance to the main theater.
Casino Royal is MSC Poesia’s main casino, with slot machines and table games. If you plan to spend time in the casino during your cruise, Deck 7 will become an easy landmark.
Kaito Sushi Bar provides one of the ship’s specialty dining options and gives cruisers an alternative to the main dining rooms and buffet.
Pigalle Lounge is one of Poesia’s larger entertainment spaces, with a bar, dance floor, and room for live performances.
For something quieter, Il Grappolo d’Oro offers a wine-focused setting, while The Hitchcock Lounge provides another more intimate lounge option.
Deck 7 also includes the Card Room, Library, photo facilities, art gallery, and access to the outdoor promenade.
Together, Decks 6 and 7 form the center of MSC Poesia’s indoor nightlife and entertainment.
Deck 8 - Tasso

Deck 8 marks the beginning of the ship’s main run of cabin-focused decks.
You’ll find interior, ocean-view, and balcony cabins here, with relatively few passenger public spaces compared with the decks immediately below.
That can make Deck 8 appealing if you want a quieter location while remaining close to the restaurants, lounges, casino, and entertainment on Decks 5 through 7.
There is one important cabin-planning consideration: because Deck 7 contains numerous public venues, check what is directly beneath any cabin you are considering on Deck 8.
Deck 9 - Ungaretti

Deck 9 is almost entirely dedicated to cabins, including interior and balcony accommodations.
This is the type of deck we generally like to see when looking for a potentially quieter cabin. Most rooms have cabins both above and below them rather than major restaurants, bars, or entertainment venues.
Deck 9 also provides a useful middle position between the lower indoor public decks and the pools and buffet higher in the ship.
Deck 10 - Carducci

Deck 10 is another primarily residential deck.
You’ll find interior and balcony cabins here, with relatively little public traffic from cruisers who are not staying on the deck.
For many passengers, Deck 10 represents a good compromise. You are roughly midway between the entertainment and dining areas below and the pool, buffet, and outdoor areas above.
Cabins surrounded by other cabins are generally among the easiest locations to evaluate when noise is a major concern.
Deck 11 - D’Annunzio

Deck 11 remains mostly dedicated to accommodations, but the 2026 redesign also brought MSC Yacht Club accommodations into this part of the ship.
For non-Yacht Club passengers, Deck 11 still has the advantages of a traditional cabin deck with relatively few major public venues.
For cabin planning, the same basic advice applies: look at the rooms directly above, below, and beside the cabin you are considering rather than evaluating the deck number alone.
Deck 11 also puts you noticeably closer to the pool and buffet areas on Deck 13 without placing you directly beneath them.
Deck 12 - Leopardi

Deck 12 is another accommodation-heavy deck, with standard cabins as well as some of the MSC Yacht Club accommodations added during the ship’s refurbishment.
The Navigation Bridge is located toward the front of the ship, although the bridge and adjoining operational areas are not open to passengers.
This deck can be convenient if you expect to spend considerable time around the pools, buffet, spa, or Yacht Club facilities on Deck 13.
If minimizing noise is your priority, check the exact location carefully because Deck 13 directly above contains some of the busiest public spaces on MSC Poesia.

Deck 13 is one of the most important decks to understand before sailing on MSC Poesia.
Villa Pompeiana is the ship’s primary buffet area and one of the busiest places onboard during breakfast and lunch. Because it is located close to the main outdoor areas, Deck 13 becomes the center of daytime activity on warm-weather sailing days.
Butcher’s Cut, MSC’s steakhouse-style specialty restaurant, was added as part of MSC Poesia’s major 2026 refurbishment.
The Coral Bay and Cayo Levantado pool areas provide the ship’s primary swimming and sunbathing spaces. Pirana Bar and Mojito Bar make it easy to grab a drink without heading back inside.
MSC Aurea Spa is also located on Deck 13. The redesigned spa includes the thermal area, treatment facilities, salon services, and relaxation spaces.
The refurbishment also turned Deck 13 into an important part of the new MSC Yacht Club. Yacht Club guests have access to the Top Sail Lounge, dedicated Concierge, and private MSC Yacht Club Restaurant in this area.
If you are staying directly below Deck 13, pay particular attention to what is above your cabin. The buffet, pool deck, spa, restaurants, and other public areas can generate more traffic than a normal cabin deck.
Deck 14 - Pascoli

Deck 14 mixes cabins with several of MSC Poesia’s family, fitness, and activity spaces.
The redesigned MSC Gym powered by Technogym is located here. It offers cardio machines, strength equipment, free weights, and workout areas with ocean views.
MSC Poesia’s kids and teen facilities are also concentrated on Deck 14. The area includes spaces for different age groups along with indoor and outdoor play areas.
Virtual games provide another entertainment option, particularly for older kids and teens.
There is also a Power Walking Track for cruisers who prefer getting their exercise outdoors rather than using a treadmill.
Deck 14 includes standard accommodations along with some MSC Yacht Club suites, so cabin location matters. A room near the gym, kids areas, or other active spaces may feel very different from one farther away.
Deck 15 - Alfieri

Deck 15 has a mix of cabins and outdoor recreation.
Top 15 Exclusive Solarium provides a more secluded outdoor relaxation area for eligible Aurea guests. It is designed as an alternative to the busier main pool areas below.
Mini golf and shuffleboard add a few simple outdoor activities when you want something to do without committing to a larger scheduled event.
There are also standard and MSC Yacht Club accommodations on Deck 15, including some of the ship’s highest-category Yacht Club suites.
If you prefer being near the top of the ship and want quick access to outdoor areas, Deck 15 can be convenient. Cruisers who are especially sensitive to motion may prefer a lower and more centrally located deck.
Deck 16 - Sport

Deck 16 is MSC Poesia’s highest major passenger activity deck.
The MSC Sports Center provides space for activities such as basketball, volleyball, and tennis.
A significant portion of Deck 16 is now dedicated to the MSC Yacht Club.
Yacht Club guests have a private outdoor sundeck with loungers, cabanas, and whirlpools. The One Bar & Grill provides casual outdoor food and drinks without requiring Yacht Club guests to leave their private area.
This creates a much more complete Yacht Club experience than MSC Poesia offered before its 2026 refurbishment and helps bring the ship closer to the ship-within-a-ship concept found on newer MSC vessels.
Final Thoughts on the MSC Poesia Deck Plans
MSC Poesia has a relatively straightforward layout once you understand how the decks are organized.
Decks 5 through 7 contain most of the traditional indoor cruise-ship experience. This is where you’ll find the main dining rooms, theater, casino, lounges, bars, shopping, Kaito Sushi Bar, and Guest Services.
Decks 8 through 12 are mostly cabin decks. For cruisers trying to minimize noise, these decks are often worth a close look because many cabins are surrounded by other accommodations rather than large public venues.
Deck 13 is the main daytime activity deck, with the buffet, pools, outdoor bars, Butcher’s Cut, Aurea Spa, and several important MSC Yacht Club venues.
Deck 14 handles much of the fitness and family activity, while Deck 15 adds the Aurea solarium, mini golf, outdoor activities, and additional cabins.
Finally, Deck 16 contains the Sports Center and the private MSC Yacht Club outdoor complex.
For cabin planning, a few simple rules can make the deck plans much easier to use:
- Look for cabins with other cabins directly above and below when quiet is your biggest priority.
- Check Deck 8 cabins carefully because many sit immediately above the busy public spaces on Deck 7.
- Check Deck 12 carefully because Deck 13 contains the buffet, pools, spa, restaurants, and Yacht Club public spaces.
- Higher decks provide quicker access to the buffet, pools, gym, and outdoor spaces.
- Lower and more centrally located cabins may be preferable if you are particularly sensitive to ship movement.
- Look at the exact forward, midship, or aft location rather than choosing a cabin based only on the deck number.
MSC Poesia is much smaller than MSC’s World Class or Seaside EVO ships, so getting around does not require quite as much planning. Still, spending a few minutes with the deck plans before choosing your cabin can help you avoid an inconvenient location and put the parts of the ship you expect to use most within easier reach.
