Hi – I’m Drew.
I’m a regular, cruise-obsessed human who’s been floating around the Caribbean (and beyond) for the past 15 years. I’ve racked up 20+ cruises, learned an impressive number of useless ship facts, and developed a highly refined talent for finding the best spot on deck to do absolutely nothing.
And yet… until 2023, I had never stepped foot on an MSC ship.
Why? Because the internet told me not to.
I read the horror stories – the food is awful, the crowds are a nightmare, and don’t even get me started on the mysterious complaint of “European service” (I still don’t really know what that means… do they serve pasta too politely?).
Then I saw a deal that was just too good to ignore, and I figured: “How bad could it really be?”
Spoiler alert: it wasn’t bad. It was awesome.
The ship was jaw-droppingly beautiful, Ocean Cay felt like something out of a fantasy novel, and the food? Let’s just say nobody in our group suffered. We had such a great time that we booked again the next year… and again the year after that.
Now I’m hooked – and more importantly, I’m on a mission.
Why this site exists
MSCCruiseFan is here to do three things:
- Cut through the noise (and the outdated hot takes)
- Bust the persistent myths about MSC Cruises
- Help you cruise smarter – whether it’s your first sailing or your 30th
I want this site to feel like having a helpful friend who’s already made the mistakes, figured out the shortcuts, and can point you in the right direction before you waste time (or money).
“Wait – you said ‘we’ earlier…”
Good catch.
While I’m the main voice and the person behind the keyboard, I’m not doing this completely solo. There’s a small team behind MSCCruiseFan that helps make the site better – editing, researching, testing tools, and sanity-checking details so we can keep things accurate and useful.
Think of it like this:
- Drew = the cruise nerd driving the ship
- The team = the people making sure we don’t hit an iceberg made of bad info
Welcome aboard
If you’re here because you’re curious about MSC, trying to decide if it’s “worth it,” or just want to know what to expect – you’re in the right place.
Welcome aboard. We’re glad you’re here.
And no – we still don’t think you’ll be disappointed by the pasta.
