If you’re planning a cruise on MSC Grandiosa, studying the deck plans before booking can save you quite a few steps once you are onboard.
MSC Grandiosa is a large Meraviglia Plus Class ship with 19 decks, 15 of which are accessible to guests. It has 2,421 cabins and can carry up to 6,334 passengers. The layout becomes much easier to understand once you recognize the basic pattern:
- Decks 4 through 7 contain most of the restaurants, bars, shops, entertainment venues, and guest services.
- Decks 8 through 14 are primarily cabin decks.
- Decks 15 through 19 contain the buffet, pools, family attractions, sports facilities, kids clubs, and most MSC Yacht Club facilities.

MSC Grandiosa Deck Plans
Deck 4 - Picasso

Deck 4 is the lowest guest-accessible deck shown on the MSC Grandiosa deck plan.
The main guest-facing facility is the Medical Centre. Hopefully, you will not need to visit it, but it is worth knowing where it is before your cruise begins.
Port operations may also use different access points on Deck 4 for embarkation, disembarkation, and gangway access. The exact setup can change depending on the port.
This is not a deck where you will find restaurants, bars, shops, cabins, or entertainment venues. Most guests will only visit Deck 4 when entering or leaving the ship or when using the Medical Centre.

Deck 5 combines guest services, entertainment, dining, cabins, and embarkation access.
Théâtre La Comédie occupies the forward section of the deck. The theater continues upward onto Deck 6, so guests attending the ship’s main production shows may enter on either level.
A section of guest cabins sits behind the theater. These include interior rooms and Deluxe Ocean View cabins. Staying this low in the ship can be helpful for guests who are sensitive to movement, especially when choosing a midship cabin.
The Infinity Atrium and Guest Service area are located near the middle of Deck 5. This is where you can handle billing questions, key card problems, account issues, and other general requests. MSC Excursions and the Business Centre are nearby.
Purple Crab, one of MSC Grandiosa’s main dining rooms, occupies the aft section.
Cabin planning note: Deck 5 cabins place you close to the theater, Guest Services, and a main restaurant. That is convenient, but this is not a fully residential deck. Check your cabin’s position relative to the theater, atrium, embarkation doors, and elevators.

Deck 6 is one of MSC Grandiosa’s busiest and most important indoor public decks.
The upper entrance to Théâtre La Comédie is located forward. From there, the deck opens into Galleria Grandiosa, the ship’s indoor promenade with shops, restaurants, bars, gathering areas, and a large LED ceiling.
Hola! Tacos & Cantina is located near the forward portion of the Galleria. Some older deck plans label this venue as Hola! Tapas Bar, but MSC currently markets it as Hola! Tacos & Cantina.
L’Atelier Bistrot, Jean-Philippe Chocolat & Café, Jean-Philippe Crêpes & Gelato, Edge Cocktail Bar, and Grandiosa Bar & Lounge make this one of the ship’s strongest decks for drinks, desserts, casual stops, and specialty dining.
Deck 6 also holds two of MSC Grandiosa’s large main dining rooms, La Loggia and La Perla Grigia or La Perle Grise. The naming can vary by sailing or onboard language, but the restaurants occupy the aft portion of the deck.
This is also the primary shopping deck. You will find jewelry, duty-free merchandise, MSC-branded souvenirs, photography services, cosmetics, fashion, and luxury retail throughout the Galleria.
There are no regular guest cabins on Deck 6, so this is a deck you visit for dinner, shopping, drinks, entertainment, and people-watching rather than accommodation.

Deck 7 is another major public deck and one of the busiest evening areas on MSC Grandiosa.
The MSC Aurea Spa is located forward. This is where you will find the thermal area, treatment rooms, salon services, barber services, beauty treatments, and spa reception. The gym is not located here. You will find the fitness center much higher on Deck 16.
The upper level of Galleria Grandiosa runs through the middle of Deck 7. Specialty restaurants on this deck include Butcher’s Cut, Kaito Sushi Bar, and Kaito Teppanyaki. Masters of the Sea provides the ship’s British-style pub experience, while Champagne Bar offers a more polished setting.
Le Grand Casino occupies a large section of the aft half of the deck. The TV Studio & Bar and Il Campo Restaurant are also located in this area.
At the very back of Deck 7 is the Carousel Lounge, MSC Grandiosa’s large panoramic entertainment venue. The original Cirque du Soleil at Sea partnership has ended, but the lounge remains an important location for specialty productions, live entertainment, music, and activities.
Cabin planning note: Deck 8 sits directly above Deck 7. If you are considering a Deck 8 cabin, look carefully at what is underneath it. Cabins above the spa or quieter retail areas may be less exposed to evening activity than those above the casino, lounges, Galleria, or Carousel Lounge.

Deck 8 is the first deck on MSC Grandiosa that is almost entirely dedicated to guest accommodations.
This deck includes interior, ocean-view, and balcony cabins. Some of the ocean-view cabins have obstructed views, while some balconies may have partial views, side views, shadows, or different railing designs.
Deck 8 can be extremely convenient if you expect to spend a lot of time in Galleria Grandiosa, the casino, specialty restaurants, Carousel Lounge, or the theater. You are only one or two flights of stairs away from many of the ship’s busiest indoor venues.
That convenience comes with a tradeoff. Deck 7 is directly below you, so your exact cabin position matters.
Cabin planning note: Check the venue beneath the cabin before booking. A cabin above a shop or spa area may be a safer choice for light sleepers than one above a bar, casino, entertainment venue, or busy section of the promenade.

Deck 9 is primarily a cabin deck and provides more separation from the public spaces on Deck 7.
The deck includes a broad range of accommodations, including interior rooms, balcony cabins, Premium Ocean View cabins, suites, and some of the two-level MSC Yacht Club Duplex Suites located toward the front of the ship.
For guests outside MSC Yacht Club, Deck 9 can be a useful compromise. You are close enough to reach the Galleria, restaurants, casino, and theater without a long elevator ride, but you have another cabin deck between most of your room and the busiest public venues.
The forward and aft sections of Deck 9 may feel quite far apart. Consider which elevator bank you expect to use most frequently when selecting your cabin.

Deck 10 is another cabin-focused deck.
Because guest cabins are located both above and below much of the deck, it can be one of the more appealing locations for travelers concerned about noise.
Deck 10 also places you roughly between the lower entertainment decks and the upper pool and buffet decks. That makes it a practical home base if you plan to divide your time between dining, shows, pools, and outdoor activities.
You will still need to pay attention to horizontal distance. A cabin near the front elevators will be convenient for the theater and MSC Yacht Club areas, while an aft cabin can be more convenient for the main dining rooms, Marketplace Buffet, Carousel Lounge, and Horizon areas.

Deck 11 continues the main residential section of MSC Grandiosa.
This is one of the decks where you begin to see more Aurea-category balcony cabins and suites. Premium Ocean View cabins that can accommodate larger families are also found across Decks 9 through 11.
Deck 11 is high enough to provide some separation from the Galleria and nightlife decks while remaining several levels below the pools and buffet. That can make it a strong all-around location for guests who do not want to be immediately adjacent to a major public deck.
Cabin planning note: Look for a room with cabins above, below, and across the hallway whenever possible. That remains one of the simplest ways to improve your chances of getting a quieter cabin.

Deck 12 is mostly cabins and suites.
Several larger suite categories appear on this deck, including the Grand Suite Aurea with a large terrace and private whirlpool. MSC Yacht Club Duplex Suites are located in the forward portion.
For regular balcony and interior guests, Deck 12 offers a good position between the lower and upper public areas. You are not especially close to either, but you are also not immediately under a pool deck, buffet, nightclub, or casino.
That middle position can work well for guests who expect to use the entire ship rather than prioritizing one particular area.

Unlike some cruise ships, MSC Grandiosa does have a Deck 13.
Deck 13 is primarily residential, with interior cabins, balcony cabins, Aurea accommodations, and some studio balcony rooms designed for solo travelers.
This is a convenient deck for guests who want easier access to the pool and buffet areas without staying directly underneath them.
Deck 14 is above you and is also primarily a cabin deck, giving most Deck 13 rooms a residential buffer from the busiest outdoor spaces.

Deck 14 is the highest deck primarily filled with regular guest cabins.
The forward section includes MSC Yacht Club suites, while the remainder of the deck contains interior rooms, balcony cabins, studio accommodations, and suites.
Deck 14 can be extremely convenient for reaching Marketplace Buffet, the pools, and outdoor areas on Deck 15. For families and guests who spend a lot of time around the pool, that can be a major advantage.
The downside is that Deck 15 sits directly above you.
Cabin planning note: Study what is above your room. Cabins below other cabins or quieter sections of the upper deck may be preferable to rooms beneath the buffet, pool seating, deck furniture, service areas, or outdoor walkways.

Deck 15 is one of MSC Grandiosa’s most frequently used daytime decks.
Marketplace Buffet occupies much of the aft portion. The buffet is the ship’s primary casual dining venue and can become especially busy at breakfast, lunch, and after port days.
The open-air Atmosphere Pool sits near the middle of the deck. Atmosphere Bar North, Atmosphere Bar South, and the Atmosphere Ice Cream Bar provide drinks, food, and frozen treats around the pool area.
Forward of the Atmosphere Pool is Safari Pool. This pool is covered by a sliding roof, making it especially useful during cooler weather or when conditions are less than ideal outside.
The forward portion of Deck 15 also contains MSC Yacht Club suites. These cabins are separated from the main public pool and buffet areas as part of the Yacht Club’s private forward complex.
Cabin planning note: There are no standard cabins spread beneath the entire pool deck on Deck 15, but Deck 14 cabins sit below many of these public areas. Check the relationship between the two decks carefully when booking Deck 14.

Deck 16 is one of the most activity-packed decks on MSC Grandiosa.
The forward section belongs largely to MSC Yacht Club. This includes the Concierge area, Top Sail Lounge, and Yacht Club suites. The Top Sail Lounge provides panoramic forward views and serves as the primary indoor gathering space for Yacht Club guests.
The MSC Gym is located in the middle of Deck 16. This is separate from the MSC Aurea Spa on Deck 7. The gym is surrounded by sections of the power walking track, which continues through the outdoor portions of the deck.
Farther aft, Deck 16 becomes a major family and entertainment zone. You will find the Sports Bar, Formula Racer, virtual games arcade, bowling, VR Maze, XD Interactive Cinema, and MSC Sportplex.
The Horizon Amphitheatre and Horizon Pool occupy the back of the ship. This gives Deck 16 a very different atmosphere from one end to the other. The front is premium and lounge-focused, the middle is fitness-oriented, and the back is built around games, sports, and outdoor entertainment.

Deck 18 is important for Yacht Club guests, families, and nightlife.
The MSC Yacht Club Restaurant is located at the forward end of the deck, close to the Yacht Club suites and private elevator.
Near the middle of the ship, Deck 18 passes over the sliding roof that covers Safari Pool on Deck 15. This creates a large open structural area rather than a continuous indoor passenger corridor through the center of the deck.
Sky Lounge is located farther aft and offers some of the ship’s best elevated views. It is a popular location for live music, drinks, and a quieter evening atmosphere.
The kids and teens facilities are grouped together behind Sky Lounge. Baby Club Chicco, Mini Club LEGO, Junior Club LEGO, Young Club, Teen Club, Doremi Lab, and the Web Creator Room are all in this general area.
Attic Club provides the ship’s nightclub, while Horizon Bar and the upper portion of Horizon Amphitheatre occupy the aft outdoor section.
MSC skips Deck 17, so elevators and deck signs move directly from Deck 16 to Deck 18.

Deck 19 is the highest guest deck on MSC Grandiosa.
The forward section contains the private MSC Yacht Club pool deck, including the Yacht Club Pool, two whirlpools, sun deck, and Grill & Bar. Access is limited to Yacht Club guests.
Top 19 Exclusive Solarium provides a separate premium sun-deck area for eligible Aurea guests.
The public portion of the deck is dominated by Wild Forest Aquapark, with waterslides and splash features for families. Wild Forest Bar provides drinks and refreshments nearby.
The Himalayan Bridge stretches across the aft portion of the ship. This elevated ropes-style attraction is one of MSC Grandiosa’s signature outdoor activities and provides a very different view of the ship and sea than you will get from the regular promenade decks.
Deck 19 is not a cabin deck. It is primarily used for private sun-deck space, family attractions, waterslides, and outdoor activities.
Which MSC Grandiosa Decks Are Mostly Cabins?
Decks 8 through 14 make up MSC Grandiosa’s primary residential section.
Decks 9 through 13 generally provide the best opportunity to find cabins with other guest accommodations above and below them. These middle cabin decks can be a good starting point for light sleepers.
Deck 8 is close to the indoor restaurants and entertainment, but it sits directly above busy Deck 7 venues.
Deck 14 is convenient for the buffet and pools, but parts of the deck sit directly below public spaces on Deck 15.
Deck 5 also contains cabins, although they share the deck with the theater, Guest Services, embarkation access, and Purple Crab Restaurant.
MSC Yacht Club suites are concentrated in the forward sections of several upper decks, with private facilities extending from Deck 16 through Deck 19.
Choosing a Cabin From the MSC Grandiosa Deck Plan
There is no single best deck for every MSC Grandiosa passenger. The right location depends on how you expect to use the ship.
For less movement, consider a lower and more centrally located cabin.
For easier access to restaurants, bars, the Galleria, casino, and theater, look at Decks 8 through 10.
For a quieter residential setting, Decks 9 through 13 generally provide the strongest selection of cabins surrounded by other accommodations.
For quicker access to the buffet, pools, and family attractions, Decks 13 and 14 are convenient, although you should still check what is directly above your cabin.
For MSC Yacht Club, the suites and private facilities are concentrated in the forward upper decks. The Top Sail Lounge and Concierge are on Deck 16, the Yacht Club Restaurant is on Deck 18, and the private pool deck and Grill & Bar are on Deck 19.
MSC Grandiosa is a large ship, but the layout becomes fairly logical after the first day. Restaurants, shopping, and entertainment are concentrated low in the ship. Most cabins are stacked through the middle. Pools, the buffet, sports, kids clubs, and outdoor attractions sit above them.
You may still take the wrong elevator once or twice. That is practically part of the cruise experience.
MSC notes that ship configurations, cabin categories, venue names, and descriptions can change by season and destination. Always compare the deck plan with the information shown for your specific sailing before choosing a cabin.
