MSC Grandiosa is a large ship capable of carrying more than 6,000 passengers, but guests staying in the MSC Yacht Club experience a much smaller and more exclusive version of it.
Most Yacht Club suites and private facilities are concentrated across the forward sections of the ship’s upper decks. The area includes a panoramic lounge, private restaurant, outdoor grill, pool, whirlpools and sundeck. Guests also receive 24-hour butler and concierge service, premium drinks, Wi-Fi, thermal-area access and priority assistance throughout the cruise.
The result is MSC’s familiar ship-within-a-ship concept. Yacht Club passengers can enjoy Grandiosa’s promenade, shows, specialty restaurants, pools and activities while still having a quieter private area to return to.
This guide covers the MSC Grandiosa Yacht Club suite types, private venues, included benefits, extra costs and the important differences between the available accommodations. Check out our broad MSC Yacht Club Guide for even more info on the Yacht Club.
MSC Grandiosa Yacht Club at a glance
MSC Grandiosa’s primary Yacht Club facilities are located at the front of Decks 16-19.
The private complex includes:
- 24-hour concierge area
- Top Sail Lounge
- MSC Yacht Club Restaurant
- MSC Yacht Club Grill & Bar
- Private swimming pool
- Two whirlpools
- Outdoor sundeck
- Pool bar
- 24-hour butler service
- Key-card-controlled access
Grandiosa offers four Yacht Club accommodation categories:
- MSC Yacht Club Interior Suite
- MSC Yacht Club Deluxe Suite
- MSC Yacht Club Duplex Suite with Whirlpool
- MSC Yacht Club Royal Suite
Most Yacht Club suites are located on Decks 14-18. The Duplex Suites are the exception because they are located on Decks 9-12, away from the primary upper-deck enclave.
What is MSC Yacht Club?
MSC Yacht Club is MSC Cruises’ premium ship-within-a-ship experience.
Passengers stay in upgraded suites and receive access to private areas that are not available to the rest of the ship. They can still use all of Grandiosa’s regular restaurants, bars, pools and entertainment venues.
Current Yacht Club benefits generally include:
- 24-hour butler service
- 24-hour concierge service
- Priority check-in and check-out
- Private Yacht Club Restaurant
- Top Sail Lounge
- Private pool and sundeck
- Yacht Club Grill & Bar
- Premium Extra drinks package
- Browse Wi-Fi for two devices per person
- Complimentary minibar replenishment
- 24-hour room-service availability
- Complimentary thermal-area access
- Discount on spa treatments purchased onboard
- Assistance with dining, entertainment and excursion reservations
- Additional benefits at Ocean Cay when included in the itinerary
MSC describes Yacht Club as an all-inclusive experience, but that does not mean every service aboard Grandiosa is free. Specialty dining, excursions, spa treatments, arcade games and other optional purchases can still cost extra.
Our complete MSC Yacht Club guide explains how the experience works across the MSC fleet.
Where is Yacht Club on MSC Grandiosa?
The main Grandiosa Yacht Club complex occupies the forward section of several upper decks.
The primary venues are arranged vertically:
- Deck 16: Concierge Area and Top Sail Lounge
- Deck 18: MSC Yacht Club Restaurant
- Deck 19: Yacht Club pool, whirlpools, sundeck, bar and grill
Interior and Deluxe Suites are located primarily on Decks 14-18. This allows most guests to move between their suite, the lounge, restaurant and pool deck without passing through Grandiosa’s busiest public areas.
The location also gives the lounge and outdoor areas forward-facing views.
The Yacht Club Duplex Suites are located on Decks 9-12. Guests in these suites receive the same Yacht Club benefits, but they must travel up to Decks 16-19 to reach the private facilities.
That location difference should be considered before choosing a suite. The Duplex offers significantly more cabin space, but an Interior or Deluxe Suite may provide more convenient access to the Yacht Club venues.
MSC Grandiosa Yacht Club suite comparison
The right Yacht Club suite depends on whether you value price, cabin space, outdoor space or proximity to the private facilities.
The Interior Suite provides the most affordable entry into Yacht Club but does not have a window or balcony.
The Deluxe Suite is the most traditional choice, combining a private balcony with a larger cabin and a convenient location.
The Duplex Suite provides two floors, two bathrooms and a private whirlpool, but it is outside the primary Yacht Club enclave.
The Royal Suite offers the most private indoor and outdoor space, including an oversized balcony with a whirlpool.
MSC Yacht Club Interior Suite
The MSC Yacht Club Interior Suite is approximately 183 square feet and is located on Decks 14-16.
Features include:
- King bed convertible into two single beds
- Closet
- Bathroom with shower or bathtub
- Vanity area
- Hairdryer
- Interactive television
- Safe
- Minibar
- ZOE Bluetooth speaker
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Full Yacht Club privileges
Interior Suites accommodate up to two guests.
The biggest advantage is price. Passengers receive the same Yacht Club restaurant, lounge, drinks, Wi-Fi, pool deck, concierge and butler benefits as guests staying in more expensive suites.
The primary drawback is the lack of natural light and private outdoor space. The cabin is also not dramatically larger than a standard interior cabin elsewhere on the ship.
This category may be a good fit for passengers who plan to spend most of their time in the Top Sail Lounge, on the Yacht Club sundeck or elsewhere around Grandiosa.
Before booking, compare the Interior Suite fare with the price of a standard balcony cabin plus drinks and Wi-Fi. The Yacht Club benefits can sometimes make the Interior Suite more competitive than the initial fare difference suggests.
MSC Yacht Club Deluxe Suite
The Deluxe Suite is the most common Yacht Club accommodation on Grandiosa.
MSC lists it at approximately:
- 312 square feet inside
- 54-square-foot balcony
- Decks 14-18
- Capacity for up to four guests in selected suites
Features include:
- King bed convertible into two single beds
- Private balcony
- Sitting area with sofa
- Spacious closet
- Bathroom with shower or bathtub
- Vanity area
- Hairdryer
- Interactive television
- Safe
- Minibar
- ZOE Bluetooth speaker
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Full Yacht Club privileges
The Deluxe Suite will be the best all-around choice for many couples. It provides a larger cabin, a private balcony and convenient access to the Yacht Club venues without the price of a Royal Suite.
Layouts can vary. Some suites may have a shower while others have a bathtub, and not every cabin accommodates the same number of passengers.
Families or groups needing a sofa bed should verify the exact occupancy and layout of the selected suite before booking.
MSC Yacht Club Duplex Suite with Whirlpool
The Yacht Club Duplex Suite is approximately 635 square feet and spans two floors.
The main level includes:
- Open living and dining area
- Sofa that converts into a double bed
- Bathroom with shower
- Private balcony
- Outdoor whirlpool
The upper level includes:
- Primary bedroom
- King bed convertible into two single beds
- Two walk-in closets
- Bathroom with bathtub
The Duplex Suite accommodates up to four passengers.
This layout provides more separation than the Interior, Deluxe or Royal Suites. Parents can use the upstairs bedroom while children sleep on the convertible sofa downstairs. Having two bathrooms can also make the cabin more practical for a family.
The main drawback is location.
Grandiosa’s Duplex Suites are on Decks 9-12 rather than inside the primary Yacht Club suite area on Decks 14-18. Passengers must travel to the upper decks whenever they want to visit the lounge, restaurant or pool.
That may be a worthwhile tradeoff for a family that prioritizes space and two bathrooms. A couple that expects to use the Top Sail Lounge frequently may prefer a smaller Deluxe Suite closer to the private facilities.
MSC’s published balcony dimensions for this category have not always been consistent. Passengers should review the current deck plan and cabin details for their selected sailing rather than relying on a single generic measurement.
MSC Yacht Club Royal Suite
Grandiosa’s Royal Suites are located on Deck 15.
MSC lists the Royal Suite at approximately:
- 624 square feet inside
- 753-square-foot balcony
- Capacity for up to four guests
Features include:
- Separate living and dining areas
- King bed convertible into two single beds
- Walk-in closet
- Large bathroom
- Oversized private balcony
- Outdoor dining table
- Private whirlpool
- Espresso machine
- Minibar
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Full Yacht Club privileges
The balcony is larger than the suite’s interior. This makes the Royal Suite a particularly appealing choice for passengers who want extensive private outdoor space.
It is also a different type of purchase from the Interior or Deluxe Suite. The lower categories are largely about gaining access to Yacht Club. The Royal Suite is about having a more complete private retreat within the Yacht Club experience.
Availability is limited, and the price can be substantially higher than the other Yacht Club categories.
Top Sail Lounge

The Top Sail Lounge is on Deck 16 at the front of Grandiosa.
It serves as the primary indoor gathering place for Yacht Club guests. Large windows provide panoramic views over the bow, while seating areas give passengers a quieter alternative to Grandiosa’s public bars and lounges.
Depending on the time of day, the lounge may offer:
- Coffee and espresso drinks
- Cocktails
- Wine
- Champagne
- Beer
- Soft drinks
- Bottled water
- Pastries
- Fruit
- Sandwiches
- Desserts
- Savory snacks
- Afternoon tea
- Evening appetizers
MSC says light food is available in Top Sail Lounge for approximately 20 hours per day. The selection changes throughout the day and should not be confused with a full buffet or restaurant menu.
The lounge may also offer live music in the evening.
Top Sail Lounge can be particularly useful on sea days. Instead of competing for seating in Galleria Grandiosa or another popular public venue, Yacht Club guests have a private place for coffee, drinks, conversation or reading.
Guests do not have to purchase a drink each time they visit. Beverages covered by the included Premium Extra Package are available without an additional charge.
Yacht Club Concierge Area
The 24-hour concierge is located near Top Sail Lounge on Deck 16.
The concierge team can assist with:
- Restaurant reservations
- Specialty-dining arrangements
- Spa appointments
- Shore excursions
- Theater and entertainment planning
- Transportation questions
- Onboard account questions
- Suite maintenance concerns
- Cruise-card problems
- Disembarkation arrangements
- Other special requests
Concierge assistance does not make a paid service complimentary. The team can reserve a specialty restaurant, shore excursion or spa treatment, but the passenger is still responsible for the applicable charge.
The main value is convenience. Instead of visiting several desks around the ship, Yacht Club guests can begin with the concierge.
How does Yacht Club butler service work?
Every Grandiosa Yacht Club suite receives 24-hour butler service.
The butler team can assist with:
- Embarkation
- Introducing the suite and private facilities
- Luggage
- Minibar preferences
- Food and drink delivery
- Reservations
- Escorts to selected venues
- Special requests
- Disembarkation arrangements
A butler may assist several suites rather than working exclusively for one cabin.
Guests will get more value from the service if they communicate their preferences. This does not mean creating unnecessary requests. It simply means letting the butler know if you would like particular minibar items, need help with a reservation or have a special occasion during the cruise.
Passengers who prefer to make their own plans can still enjoy Yacht Club without using the butler frequently.
MSC Yacht Club Restaurant
Grandiosa’s private Yacht Club Restaurant is on Deck 18.
It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner exclusively to Yacht Club guests.
Unlike the regular main dining rooms, the Yacht Club Restaurant offers flexible dining within its scheduled opening hours. Guests are not assigned to a traditional early or late dinner seating.
Menus may include:
- Cooked-to-order breakfast dishes
- Pastries and fruit
- Soups
- Salads
- Pasta and risotto
- Meat entrées
- Seafood
- Vegetarian choices
- Desserts
- Cheese
- Wine and other included beverages
The menu changes throughout the cruise.
The restaurant is one of the most important Yacht Club benefits. Guests receive a dedicated dining room without having to purchase a specialty-dining package.
Flexible dining does not mean the restaurant remains open continuously. Breakfast, lunch and dinner each have designated operating hours. Passengers arriving during the most popular dinner periods may still experience a short wait.
Dietary restrictions should be discussed with the restaurant staff early in the cruise. The same team serves Yacht Club guests throughout the sailing, which can make it easier to maintain dietary preferences once they are known.
MSC Yacht Club Grill & Bar
The Yacht Club Grill & Bar is located on Deck 19 beside the private pool and sundeck.
It provides a casual outdoor alternative to the Yacht Club Restaurant.
The selection can include:
- Breakfast foods
- Eggs
- Fruit
- Pastries
- Salads
- Burgers
- Fish
- Grilled meats
- Pasta
- Side dishes
- Desserts
- Cocktails
- Wine
- Beer
- Soft drinks
The grill is particularly convenient at breakfast and lunch. Guests can eat near the pool without changing clothes and traveling down to the restaurant.
Hours and selection vary by sailing. Weather can also affect the operation of an outdoor buffet and grill.
The Yacht Club Grill should not be treated as a full replacement for Grandiosa’s Marketplace Buffet. The selection is smaller, but the setting is quieter and more convenient for passengers spending time on the private sundeck.
Yacht Club pool and sundeck
Grandiosa’s private Yacht Club pool area is on Deck 19.
It includes:
- Swimming pool
- Two whirlpools
- Sundeck
- Loungers
- Outdoor bar
- Yacht Club Grill
- Poolside drink service
- Forward-facing ocean views
The outdoor complex provides an alternative to the busier Atmosphere Pool and Safari Pool areas.
The Yacht Club pool is smaller than a traditional resort pool and is better suited to cooling off than swimming long laps. Passengers seeking a full-size swimming experience should adjust their expectations.
The private deck has more space per passenger than Grandiosa’s public pool areas, but it is not guaranteed to be empty. Sea days and warm-weather itineraries will naturally attract more guests.
Wind can also affect the forward outdoor area. Conditions may be noticeably different from the more sheltered sections of the ship.
Are children allowed in MSC Grandiosa Yacht Club?
Yes. MSC Yacht Club is family-friendly and is not an adults-only area.
Children can stay in eligible Yacht Club suites and use the lounge, restaurant, pool and sundeck. They can also leave the enclave to participate in Grandiosa’s regular youth clubs and family activities.
Families may appreciate:
- Larger suite options
- Flexible dining
- Included nonalcoholic drinks
- Private pool deck
- Room service
- Concierge assistance
- Priority embarkation
- Quieter public spaces
- Easier access to food throughout the day
The Yacht Club atmosphere is generally quieter than the rest of the ship. Parents should consider whether their children will enjoy that environment and be comfortable following the expected behavior in the lounge and restaurant.
Non-Yacht Club family members and friends cannot normally enter the private enclave. This can be important for groups that split their reservations between Yacht Club and standard cabins.
Are drinks included in Grandiosa Yacht Club?
The Premium Extra drinks package is included with Yacht Club.
The package can be used:
- Inside the Yacht Club
- At Grandiosa’s public bars
- In the Marketplace Buffet
- In the main restaurants
- In specialty restaurants
- At Ocean Cay when included in the itinerary
Under MSC’s current U.S. package terms, Premium Extra covers drinks priced up to $16.
A daily limit of 15 alcoholic beverages per adult applies both inside and outside Yacht Club. Nonalcoholic beverages do not count toward the limit.
Drinks priced above the package limit are not fully included. Passengers should confirm whether they pay the difference or the full price under the terms applying to their sailing.
The drink package covers beverages in specialty restaurants, but it does not cover the cost of specialty-restaurant food.
Our guide to whether Yacht Club guests need a separate drink package explains the benefit in more detail.
Yacht Club dress code
The Yacht Club dress code changes by venue and time of day.
During the day in Top Sail Lounge and the Yacht Club Restaurant:
- Casual clothing is acceptable.
- T-shirts and casual tops are allowed.
- Swimwear should not be worn inside.
At night:
- Smart casual clothing is recommended.
- Dresses, skirts, long pants and jeans are generally acceptable.
- Button-down shirts and polished tops work well.
- Shorts and flip-flops should be avoided inside the lounge and restaurant.
On Gala evenings, MSC encourages more elegant clothing. A tuxedo or formal gown is not mandatory, but many passengers dress more formally than on a normal evening.
Swimsuits, cover-ups, T-shirts, hats and sandals are appropriate around the Yacht Club pool and grill.
Yacht Club feels more polished than many parts of Grandiosa, but it is not an ultra-formal luxury cruise environment.
Can regular Grandiosa passengers visit Yacht Club?
No. Yacht Club access is restricted to passengers staying in Yacht Club suites.
Guests generally cannot invite friends or family staying in standard Grandiosa cabins into:
- Top Sail Lounge
- Yacht Club Restaurant
- Yacht Club pool
- Yacht Club sundeck
- Yacht Club Grill & Bar
This is important for groups traveling together. If some cabins are in Yacht Club and others are not, the group may need to meet in Grandiosa’s public areas.
The same restriction applies even when the non-Yacht Club passenger has Aurea Experience, Diamond status or another priority benefit.
What is included in Grandiosa Yacht Club?
The following benefits are generally included:
- Yacht Club suite
- 24-hour butler service
- 24-hour concierge service
- Priority check-in and check-out
- Top Sail Lounge
- Yacht Club Restaurant
- Yacht Club Grill & Bar
- Private pool and sundeck
- Two private whirlpools
- Premium Extra drinks package
- Browse Wi-Fi for two devices per person
- Daily minibar replenishment
- 24-hour room-service availability
- Thermal-area access
- Discount on onboard spa treatments
- Reservation assistance
- Digital newspapers and magazines
- Ocean House access when visiting Ocean Cay

- Drinks above the Premium Extra price limit
- Browse & Stream internet upgrade
- Shore excursions
- Yacht Club excursions
- Massages and spa treatments
- Hair and nail services
- Personal training
- Specialty fitness classes
- Arcade games
- Bowling
- Formula Racer
- XD Cinema
- Casino gambling
- Shopping
- Photos
- Laundry
- Medical care
- Premium room-service items
- Ocean Cay cabanas
- Additional gratuities guests choose to provide
Yacht Club reduces the number of onboard purchases a passenger needs to make, but it does not eliminate optional spending.
Which Yacht Club suite should you choose?
The Interior Suite may be the best value for passengers who want Yacht Club benefits at the lowest available fare and do not need a private balcony.
The Deluxe Suite is the strongest all-around option. It provides more cabin space, a balcony and convenient access to the Yacht Club facilities.
The Duplex Suite is best suited to families or groups that value two floors, two bathrooms and a private whirlpool. Its location away from the primary enclave is the main compromise.
The Royal Suite is best for passengers who want a large private retreat and extensive outdoor space. Its oversized balcony and private whirlpool are a significant part of the experience.
Always compare the total fare rather than assuming one category offers better value. Pricing can vary dramatically by sailing.
Is MSC Grandiosa Yacht Club worth it?
Grandiosa is the kind of ship where Yacht Club can make a particularly noticeable difference.
The ship offers an impressive range of restaurants, bars, entertainment and family attractions, but its large passenger capacity can also make public areas feel busy. Yacht Club gives passengers access to everything Grandiosa offers while providing a private place to escape the crowds.
It may be worth the upgrade for passengers who value:
- Quiet public spaces
- Flexible dining
- Personal service
- Included premium drinks
- Included Wi-Fi
- Thermal-suite access
- A less crowded pool area
- Priority assistance
- A more organized embarkation experience
It may provide less value for passengers who:
- Spend most days ashore
- Rarely drink
- Do not need Wi-Fi
- Prefer specialty restaurants every night
- Spend little time in their cabin
- Plan to use Grandiosa’s public attractions throughout the day
- Do not expect to use the lounge, concierge or butler
The Interior Suite can create an interesting value proposition because it bundles Yacht Club benefits into the lowest-priced accommodation category.
When comparing fares, calculate the cost of adding Premium Extra drinks, Wi-Fi, thermal access and other desired benefits to a standard cabin. The remaining difference represents the premium being paid for the private venues, upgraded dining, suite and service.
Tips for booking MSC Grandiosa Yacht Club
- Compare all four suite categories before booking.
- Do not assume the Duplex Suite is inside the primary Yacht Club enclave.
- Verify the exact occupancy of the selected suite.
- Check whether the bathroom has a shower or bathtub.
- Review the cabin-specific deck location.
- Compare the Yacht Club fare with a standard cabin plus drinks and Wi-Fi.
- Consider an Interior Suite if access matters more than the cabin.
- Choose a Deluxe Suite for the most balanced experience.
- Consider the Duplex for additional family space and two bathrooms.
- Book a Royal Suite for its private space rather than Yacht Club access alone.
- Confirm whether Ocean Cay is included in the itinerary.
- Review the current drink-package limit and terms.
- Decide which devices will use the included Wi-Fi.
- Reserve preferred thermal-area times early.
- Tell the concierge about important dining or entertainment requests.
- Discuss minibar preferences with the butler.
- Remember that specialty dining still costs extra.
- Coordinate meeting locations if friends or family are staying outside Yacht Club.
- Review the current Yacht Club benefits before final payment.
Final verdict
MSC Grandiosa Yacht Club combines the facilities of a large resort-style cruise ship with a smaller private enclave.
Guests receive four suite choices, a panoramic Top Sail Lounge, private restaurant, outdoor grill, pool, whirlpools and sundeck. Premium Extra drinks, Wi-Fi, minibar replenishment, thermal-area access and personalized assistance add meaningful value beyond the suite itself.
The Deluxe Suite will be the most balanced choice for many travelers. The Interior Suite offers the lowest-cost path into Yacht Club, while the Duplex and Royal Suites provide substantially more living space.
The Duplex location is the most important Grandiosa-specific booking consideration. Its two floors and two bathrooms are appealing, but it is not located beside the primary Yacht Club facilities.
Yacht Club will not be necessary for everyone. Grandiosa already offers a wide selection of included dining, pools and entertainment. However, passengers who want to enjoy those large-ship features while avoiding some of the crowds may find Yacht Club to be one of the most compelling ways to sail on MSC Grandiosa.
